What happens to what you say
Four steps. None of them leave the room.
You speak.
A microphone in the unit picks up your voice. Nothing is transmitted, because there is nowhere to transmit to.
The unit understands you, by itself.
Speech recognition and the language model both run on the processor inside the box. No request is made to a server, because the unit is never joined to a network.
It answers.
Out loud, in the room. There is no screen, no transcript on a phone, and no history to scroll back through.
You press Erase, or you switch it off.
The conversation was held in volatile memory the entire time. Cutting power clears it. Not deleted — never written down in the first place.
What we will not do

We can't sell your data.
Not "we promise not to." The unit never sends anything, so there is no data on our side to sell, subpoena, breach, or change our minds about later.
We can't nudge you.

Who built it
Most AI for hard moments is built by people who read about them.
Guardian was founded by Eric J. Cox, Esq., a former child welfare attorney who spent two decades in courtrooms with families on the worst day of their lives. That work is the entire reason these units are built the way they are — and the reason they forget on purpose.
The units know their place. They are not trying to be your therapist, your pastor, or your doctor. They are trying to be present, and then get out of the way.
